English Teaching Assistantship Program (ETA)

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Program places young Americans in Thai middle/high schools out of Bangkok as English conversation teachers for 12 months (including a four-week orientation in Bangkok).

All 20 grantees are required to begin their grants in October in order to attend the orientation program. The orientation program covers intensive Thai language study, ESL teaching techniques, and Thai cultural issues. The assistantship requires grantees to start from the second semester and proceed to the first semester of the subsequent academic year. During Thai summer school vacation, grantees are expected to be engaged in English camps, outreach or other related community activities.
