Despite the fact that the Thai university and business community have made continuous efforts to enhance cross-cultural understanding, they often do not adequately emphasize the cultural dimensions, which are an integral part of the internationalization process. Universities and businesses increasingly need to learn how to best benefit from the multi-cultural world we live in.
In recognition of the effective cross cultural management skills as the significant factor for successful organization in today business world, the Thailand-U.S. Educational Foundation, in collaboration with the American Embassy, the Thai Ministry of Education, and Mahidol Universitys College of Management, with support from the International Center of Chiang Mai University and Prince of Songkla Univeristy, deliberately organizes Leader across Culture Program for the sharing of knowledge and good practices among those working in the multicultural environment.
The three "Leaders across Cultures" were organized in Chiang Mai (November 28, 2006), Songkla (February 22, 2007) and Bangkok (May 17, 2007). Each was comprised of two major activities: 1) a special talk and 2) a workshop. Summaries of the talk were compiled in the program compendium together with a cross-cultural manual done by workshop facilitators from CMMU and relevant articles from Fulbrighters. The compendium has been distributed to program participants and TUSEFs network organizations. Soft copy of the compendium is also available on TUSEFs website.
